On July 8th at the City of Chula's Downtown Block Party, Mayor Mary Casillas Salas, Councilmembers Jill Galvez and John McCann and others recognized people and organizations in the community for efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic and other achievements.
The city has been honoring champions annually since 2017. Said Salas, "Regular people doin extraordinary things - that's who we honor."
Us4Warriors Board Chairman/President Carlos "Danny" Carreon led a team of ten recipients receiving on behalf of the foundation made up of board members, staff and key volunteers.
When presented the award, the organization's achievement was expressed, "Us4Warriors was a significant source of support during the recent pandemic through their Food4Warriors food distributions and Work4Warriors employment services that helped thousands. Through many other 'Warrior-verse' of programs like Art4Warriors, Books4Warriors and others, Us4Warriors supports our warriors and their families to improve their quality of life and aspire for their dreams."
