City Councilmember Recognizes Us4Warriors

At a State of the District Address hosted by City of Chula Vista City Councilmember John McCann on August 15th, the Us4Warriors Team was presented with an "Act of Service" award recognizing the organization's consistent support of the community. Representing the organization was Us4Warriors Board of Doers President Danny Carreon and Board Member Joshua Prado. Sharing information regarding the state of his City District (Chula Vista District 1), McCann celebrated many city and district accomplishments and recognized many within the area for efforts above and beyond. McCann shared Us4Warriors' consistent and robust efforts in the community to help warriors and their families, including essential food and jobs support during the pandemic. McCann, a Commander in the United States Navy Reserves who mobilized to serve “boots on the ground” in Mosul, Iraq, during the War in Iraq, stressed the need to support those who served, have served and their families, especially in what is considered an area with a high cost of living. The evening rounded out with an informative and engaging presentation from City Chief of Policy Roxana Kennedy covering crime, law enforcement, and the innovation that comes with keeping the community safe.
