Collaborative Success: Us4Warriors & Veterans Affairs lift warriors & their families

In our ongoing mission to support veterans in need, Us4Warriors recently joined forces with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and their Food Empowerment Program team to organize a highly successful food distribution event at the VA Clinic in Kearny Mesa, San Diego, California. This event exemplifies the power of collaboration in providing essential assistance to our veterans while highlighting the dedication of those involved in making a difference.

A Collaborative Effort: The food distribution event at the VA Clinic in Kearny Mesa showcased the remarkable partnership between Us4Warriors and the VA's Food Empowerment Program. It was a collaborative effort fueled by the shared commitment to address food insecurity among veterans and their families.

Hundreds of Veterans Supported: The event was nothing short of a resounding success. It provided much-needed support to hundreds of veterans in the San Diego area, ensuring that they had access to nutritious food to sustain their well-being. This endeavor not only met the immediate needs of veterans but also contributed to their overall health and quality of life.

A Letter of Appreciation: The impact of this collaborative effort did not go unnoticed. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' Veterans Health Administration extended a heartfelt letter of appreciation to Us4Warriors for their dedication in supporting food-insecure veterans across the VA Medical Center and Community-Based Outpatient Clinics since 2018. This recognition underscores the significance of their contributions to the well-being of our nation's veterans.

In the letter, Chief of Nutrition and Food Service, Daniel Santibanez, emphasized the importance of addressing food insecurity among vulnerable populations. He highlighted the connection between food insecurity and serious health conditions, including clinical depression among male veterans. The collaborative approach of providing food alongside social work and nutrition services ensures that veterans not only receive immediate assistance but also gain knowledge about sustainable ways to access food within their communities.

Looking to the Future: The success of the food distribution event in Kearny Mesa is a testament to what can be achieved when organizations come together to support our veterans. It reinforces the belief that with continued dedication and collaboration, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of those who have served our country.
