Us4Warriors is a collaborative partner for this upcoming event. FORCE-CON 2022 is the First-ever 3-Day Military Superhero Convention revolving around the Purple Foxes United story dedicated to POW/MIA of the Vietnam War. Tickets are on sale now for opening night! We have been invited to participate in of FORCE-CON 2022. There will be something for everyone in this 3-day extravaganza! It includes:
Friday Night – Opening night at the San Diego Air and Space Museum for a red carpet event to honor the Legends of Aviation. We will screen a film called, “Into Flight Once More” which documents the mission of the D-Day Squadron as then transit the Atlantic to France for the 2019 75th anniversary of D-Day. We will have a “raise the paddle” fundraiser at the start of the film to help get our veterans on THEIR Honor Flight. You can view the film trailer at: Film Trailer and after the film, there will be a panel to answer questions, including WWII paratrooper Tom Rice who parachuted into the same drop zone in 2019 as he did on D-Day! Saturday – Hotel del Coronado will host the largest flyover of vintage DC-3’s part of the D-Day Squadron that served in WWII, among other monumental campaigns. Elite parachutists from across the globe will jump onto the beaches of Coronado with Wounded Warriors, POW Vietnam vets and WWII veterans. One of the last “Battered Bastards of the Battle of the Bulge,” Vincent J. Speranza will jump with the All Veteran Group President Mike Elliot who has jumped President George H.W. Bush on three occasions. This event is free and open to the public.
Sunday – There will be a community interactive “Remember the Fallen” art piece, followed by an Art Festival and “Meet the Heroes” presentation at Liberty Station. The interactive artwork created by U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Joe Pisano will be auctioned and proceeds will support of Honor Flight San Diego. The Art Festival will host keynote speaker, U.S. Army “Battle of the Bulge” paratrooper Vincent J. Speranza who shares his war stories of combat and liberation. A POW panel will conclude the program with honored guests WWII child POW Tom Crosby, Vietnam War era POW and U.S. Navy aviation legend Lt. Willy Sharp, U.S. Air Force POW B-52 CAPT Bill Arcuri and Thud Pilot Colonel Victor Vizcarra. There will be exhibits, food vendors and a beer garden too! We will have a booth set up at the event with information and merchandise to sell. This event is free and open to the public.
