Warrior Volunteer Force Revitalizes Horseshoe Pits for Senior Veterans

During August and September 2019, our Warrior Volunteer Force came together over the course of several weekends to revitalize a horseshoe pit in need of repair. Thanks to the technical project management of Dan Rice and Bobby Erdmann, partnership with the Chula Vista Veterans Home Support Foundation and a generous grant from the County of San Diego, the pits were able to be brought to life and ready for play. Several of the 305 residents of the California Veterans Home in Chula Vista can now exercise and enjoy the outdoors while pursuing a game of horseshoes. Over the course of several weekends, over 40 volunteers came together to ensure that the horseshoe pits were ready for action.
