Under warm glowing smiles of the Senior Veterans residing in the Veterans Home of California Chula Vista, The Us4Warriors Warrior Volunteer Force came together on August 17th in support of numerous community projects to uplift the residents. Force teammates from U.S. Navy's Amphibious Construction Battalion 1 (ACB-1) and San Diego's Marine Corps Recruiting Depot (MCRD) assembled in one of the first community service assignments permitted on campus since the height of the pandemic. Under the direction of Community Engagement Support Manager, Sanjeeta Thomas, the team conducted various activities to clean, repair, assemble and restore many furnishings and materials used by the residents. The groups presence and camaraderie were felt by all involved and very special for the senior veterans.
We thank ACB-1 and MCRD volunteers for their support and being a part of the Warrior Volunteer Force! If you would like to participate in activities such as this, learn more here or by emailing the team at Volunteer@Us4Warriors.org.
