Us4Warriors™ is a 100% volunteer 501C3 non-profit foundation dedicated to helping veterans, active duty military, and their families to overcome hardships and improve their ability to contribute their unique experiences, training, and leadership skills to society.

What makes us different?

  • We help 100% of warriors and their families, and not just one select group or condition.

  • Our directors are veterans, and we are not compensated.

  • We operate lean and impactful, ensuring the funds go where they are needed most.

  • We don’t just “give fish” to veterans to “feed for a day,” we lift up when needed, but offer or fund programs to empower to “fish for themselves” and contribute to our society.

Brightening the Day of Our VA Partners

August 25, 2020

At Us4Warriors™, we value our partners in the community.  Our Food4Veterans program works with Nutritionists and Social Workers from the local Dept of Veterans Affairs (VA) Clinics to provide specially selected sacks of groceries for those identified with food insecurity issues.  This effort is part of the VA's Food Empowerment Program that was piloted in San Diego.  Since day one, we have worked in concert with our VA counterparts as exclusive food providers to ensure those in need get assistance.  The recent pandemic has made many support jobs more challenging while the needs have also increased.  At Us4Warriors, we appreciate our partners who are in the fight with us!  To show that appreciation, our team put together special "appreciation" packages that were delivered to the partnering clinics.  Just a way to say "Thank You" to those who help us, help others!  If you are a veteran and would like to get assistance from a Dietitian with the Dept of VA, check out the link at  Click "Get Food" above for other resources that are available to both military and veterans.

Supporting Crew of USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6)

July 24, 2020

At Us4Warriors™, we strive to be there when our military and veterans need us.  That is why, when the fires broke out recently aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), our team wanted to be there.  An outpouring of great efforts from among many organizations in San Diego County took place to help those in need.  Along with support for crewmembers and family through our Food4Warriors program, where we provided much needed groceries, our team wanted to do more.  That is why the Us4Warriors™ team was happy to forward $1000 to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society in the name of the crewmembers of the Bonhomme Richard.  We hope that this joins with the other contributions to help support those in need.

Warrior Volunteer Force Helps Other Teams

April 09, 2020

During these troubling times, our San Diego County area has many military and veterans who are encountering tough times.  Within a county of 1.2M military, veterans and their families, it takes a collaborative community to reach those in need to the fullest extent at times.  We appreciate the partnership of organizations like The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Feeding San Diego, San Diego Food Bank, 2-1-1 San Diego, Easter Seals, Support the Enlisted Project, San Diego Veterans Coalition, Department of Veterans Affairs, County of San Diego and many more who band together to accomplish more during these uncertain times of unprecedented challenges among the military and veterans population.  Whether it was an event hosted by these organizations where we have lent a few hands from our Warrior Volunteer Force to be force multipliers for their events, like our friends with Support The Enlisted Project and Easterseals, to clinging tightly to key information brokers like the San Diego Veterans Coalition and County of San Diego to receiving synergistic support to amplify our food distribution efforts thanks to Feeding San Diego and San Diego Food Bank as well as our team members helping support deliveries to Veterans Affairs Clinics and our key Food4Warriors venues at American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts and Elks lodges.  Without all of these collaborative partners and more, we could not fulfill our mission.  Collaboration is key!  Together, we will march onward through the maze of support to bring our community beyond COVID-19.  The mission continues...

Board Doer Receives Nod from San Diego Mayor

April 01, 2020

On a recent City of San Diego Daily Coronavirus Briefing, San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer used his "San Diegans Stepping Up" concluding segment of his brief to highlight Us4Warriors and our very own Board Doer Al Lejarde.   Al Lejarde is a remarkable team member and strong force for good.  Mayor Faulconer recognized Al's efforts caring for members of the veterans community by filling gaps during this time through support via our Food4Warriors program and other needs assistance.  Al stepped up to help those around him during this challenging time of uncertainty to make sure fellow veterans and families where cared for.  Al and his fellow volunteers on the Board of Doers and those on our Warrior Volunteer Force support these actions everyday.  Al is truly a great example of a powerful force for good!  We are proud of Al!  He is Us4Warriors, through and through!  Salute!

Yes, We Are Still in the Fight!

As many are living with a new normal of isolation and uncertainty, our Us4Warriors Team is doing what we can to help those in need.  As long as funding permits, we will continue to support through our Food4Warriors efforts, Work4Warriors job information, Support4Warriors Information Forums and our Coronarivus/COVID-19 Information & Resources as well as other ways that we can help support our troops, veterans and their families in this time of need.  Continue to check back as we grow these resources to meet the needs while uplifting and ensuring that all safety precautions and healthy methods are engaged to maximize support.  Our Food4Warriors has been ensuring that tons of food gets to those in need during these rough times.  Our Work4Warriors has discovered information for companies that are still looking for jobseekers during this time.  For those looking to support the cause, check out our Warrior Volunteer Force to find safe ways that you might be able to support as well.  If you have the means and are looking to help keep us in the fight, please consider supporting through a tax deductible donation.  We are uncompensated volunteers doing our part as a force of doers!  Yes, we are still in the fight.  Thank you for your support!  Please be safe!

Us4Warriors™ Food Security Program Collaboration Mentioned to Congress

January 09, 2020

On January 9th,  our partners with the Dept of Veterans Affairs & Feeding San Diego attended the Congressional Committee on Veterans Affairs (Sub-committee on Economic Opportunity) Oversight Hearing to Address Veteran Hunger. The hearing was Chaired by Congressman Mike Levin (CA-49). Levin reminded that "no one Veteran in need should go hungry." Dr. Thomas O'Toole & Christine Going, Co-Chairs of Dept of VA VHA's "Ensuring Veterans Food Security Work Group" reinforced the need & discussed several ways governmental support can be strengthened to help Veterans & ways VA partners with community non-profit partners. Locally, we are pleased to be that local partner for VA Medical Center La Jolla through the local "VA Food Empowerment" program where we work with VA Nutritionists & Social Workers to identify the best foods and deliver them to VA Clinics in the area. From another local partner, Vince Hall, CEO of Feeding San Diego captured the needs of Veterans as well as identifying local challenges of junior military. Us4Warriors is proud to be one of the organizations mentioned by Hall combating this issue on the frontlines for these Veterans. When asked about a stigma among Veterans regarding the seeking of food. In response, Hall explained that "no one feels pride seeking food," but "only by partnering with these organizations who have the trust of Veterans" is creating a "safe environment where we minimize that stigma & maximize their dignity." Today's hearing was a great exchange to bring awareness to the issues & to bring legislators to the needs in order to help find ways forward. The oversight hearing was entitled “Reviewing the Availability of Resources to Address Veteran Hunger” and it examined United States Department of Agriculture & Veterans Affairs programs that provide nutrition assistance to nearly twenty million veterans. Us4Warriors™ is proud to play a role in helping fight food insecurity within San Diego County in support of the 1.2M Military, Veterans & families among us who count on the efforts of our Warrior Volunteer Force and Food 4Warriors™ Programs each year. Each month, we provide food to those in need in hopes to help all live a stronger life. Together, like the collaborate efforts of our partners, we can help thousands when we work together!
